The newest Camp Woodward will be sited at Boreal Ski Resort. That big building you see being built in Boreal’s parking lot is the new Camp Woodward Tahoe. So what is Camp Woodward? Woodward camps are live-in facilities for kids who want to train in facilities like the pros have. The camps also provide daily experienced coaching. The “action sports” include snowboard/skiing, BMX, mountain bike, inline skating, and skateboarding. The kids learn “air awareness” so they can go big and stick the landings. Professionals in various sports drop by from time to time to inspire the young up-and-comers.
The camps big building will hold ramps, foam pits, skate/bmx parks, tumbling mats, and trampolines. In addition to action sports, Woodward holds classes in hiking, cheer, tumbling, and digital media. The cable channel Fuel TV has a reality series filmed at Camp Woodward.
Camp Woodward is currently conducting free twice a week ride and cruise sessions with Woodward coach Brandon Hollins. Hollins, an experienced coach, will hang out with skiers/boarders and answer questions about Woodward and your skiing/riding.
Wednesday sessions are from 3:30pm to 6:30pm and Saturday sessions are from 11:00am to 2:00pm. For more info:http://www.woodwardtahoe.com/?page_id=268
