Fatal skiing accident at NorthStar Resort

The N.Lake Tahoe Bonanza  is reporting that a skiing accident at NorthStar California last week proved fatal.  The accident occurred around 2:00pm on Thursday, Feb.23.  The Ski Patrol responded to a report of injury on the new Castle Peak (intermediate) trail, located on the Backside of the resort.
The press release indicates Cindy Tucker Mulcahy, age 52, was found lying unconscious.  She was transported by CareFlight helicopter to Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee, where she later died, according to NorthStar California.
The cause of the loss of consciousness is unclear.  Mulcahy, from San Jose, was wearing a helmet.
Mulcahy’s obiturary reads in part: Cindy Tucker Mulcahy passed away on February 23, 2012 doing something she loved, skiing at Lake Tahoe.  Cindy was a loving and faithful wife, devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend.
