Sierra at Tahoe opens the Burton Star Wars kid park

Feb. 17 was the official launch of the new Burton Star Wars “Experience” for children.  Sierra partnered with Burton Snowboards and Lucasfilm to bring the Star Wars characters to children ages 3-6 in a new snowboard learning park.  The goal is to make learning to ride fun.

Burton uses their teaching systems to help kids develop balance, movement, and control.  One of the teaching aids is Burton’s Riglet Reel, a specially designed reel attached to the nose of the snowboard.  Coaches can tow kids around to enhance the learning process.  Burton also uses specially designed boards, boots and bindings to expedite learning.
The park is built with downed trees and recycled materials.  The Star Wars characters (Chewbacca, Jar Jar, Skywalker, Yoda, etc.) are large life-like chainsaw carvings.
Sierra at Tahoe lists a daily experience price of $135 per day and includes all equipment, lunch and instruction.  A “3-pak” brings the price to $81 per day.  Sierra at Tahoe phone number: 530-659-7453
