This weekend is the first competition for the Tahoe Junior Freeride Series. Girls and boys ages 10 to 18 will be collecting points for national rankings over a two day cumulative points format.
Freeriding is all about a fluidity of movement and improvisation. It’s a free spirit or attitude with no limits as you’re out there experiencing everything a mountain has to offer. Freeriding is an individual’s interpretation of a dream ride with one-off tricks to match the terrain.
There will be teams from several of the local resorts, and the Auburn Ski Club. Athletes are judged on their line choice as well as their control and technique.
The competition begins at 10:00am on Saturday and Sunday.
