Leprechaun Day in Tahoe-Truckee

March 17 is the Irish celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.  St. Patrick is the guy credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland.  It was St. Patrick that popularized the Shamrock flower in his teachings.  So what’s up with the little man who smoked his pipe and drank in solitude?  They called this wiry red haired guy with bushy sideburns a leprechaun.  Truth is, the lucky leprechaun is only an enduring Irish legend that we use as an excuse to have fun.
