Suspect arrested in Truckee burglary

Matthew Joshua Stanaway of Incline Village has been arrested in connection with a commercial burglary in Truckee and is a suspect in additional burglaries in the Lake Tahoe area.

Stanaway, 24, was booked into Nevada County Jail on March 21 on a burglary warrant. He is accused of burglarizing Carlson's Electronics at 10607 West River St. in Truckee in the early morning of March 7.

Investigations by Truckee police and Placer County sheriff's detectives identified Stanaway as a suspect in numerous unsolved burglaries in the Lake Tahoe area, according to a Truckee Police Department news release.

Detectives identified property from previously reported vehicle burglaries, commercial burglaries and residential burglaries, including car stereo equipment, lap top computers, jewelry, sports memorabilia, flat screen televisions, GPS devices, credit cards, identifications, a guitar, snowboards and a bicycle.

A a search warrant was served at Stanaway's residence, and detectives recovered all the property reported stolen from Carlson's Electronics, officials said. Washoe County and Placer County sheriff's officers also recovered numerous items involved to the other unsolved cases.
