Squaw and Alpine want your business

With the ski season winding down, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are offering $50 dollar lift tickets to season pass holders from any other resort.  Everyone gets 40 percent off private lessons.
At the end of the day you can turn in your ticket for a $30 dollar discount on next season’s Tahoe Super Pass.
This is a pretty nice gesture for sure.  My buddy and I skied Squaw Valley on 5/21.  There was still plenty of snow at that time.  The only bare spots were at the base of the mountain.  We skied most of the mountain, Red Dog, KT, Headwall, Gold Coast, Granite Chief,  and others.  It was the standard spring conditions.  Ice the first hour, good snow by 10:00am and slowly turning to mashed potatoes by noon.
My suggestion would be to go early with sharp edges and a heavy sunscreen application.  By noon, half the skiers were in shorts and no jacket.  It was 72 degrees last Saturday when we were there.  If you are a pass holder, you can ride the tram to Squaw’s High Camp and hang out in the pool and hot tub.  Live outdoor music will set a party atmosphere.
Alpine Meadows will have weekend music on the Sun Deck or on the Alpine Bandwagon until their closing weekend in May.  Squaw closes for the season on 4/29.
