Lance Armstrong wins Ironman Florida 70.3

Lance Armstrong won the Florida 70.3 Ironman Triathlon today.  Armstrong swam a fast 1.2 mile swim, the fastest 56 mile bike split and the fastest 13.1 mile run split.  His overall time was 3:45:38, more than 11 minutes faster than second place athlete, Maxim Kriat, a 28 year-old professional triathlete from Clermont, Florida.
Armstrong placed second in Panama 70.3 Ironman and third in St. Croix 70.3 Ironman races earlier this year.  In those two races, Armstrong had solid swim and bike splits, but was a little slow in the run portion.  The race this time in Florida showed that he has improved on his running.
Armstrong is training to qualify and compete in the Hawaii Ironman this October.  Armstrong will be 41 years-old for the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon with race distances of 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run.
