Tahoe-Truckee street cleaning events on June 2nd

There are two organized city street clean ups scheduled for June 2, 2012 in North Tahoe.
Truckee Day is a town-wide street clean up and civic pride day.  Volunteer registration begins at 8:00am from about 22 locations.  Volunteers are given t-shirts and assigned a piece of roadway to clean up.
A town-wide block party begins at noon at Truckee River Regional Park.  This is the ninth edition of Truckee Day.  Last year they had 800+ volunteers, 7+ tons of trash collected, 700 burgers consumed at the party and one engine block recovered.
The North Tahoe Business Association is sponsoring the “Bay to Bay” clean up and volunteer party.  They are inviting people to walk the streets to pick up trash in the communities of Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay and Crystal Bay.
Registration begins at 9:00am in each community.  Lucky volunteers may find “Golden Items”, such as cups, wrenches, and disks that can be turned in for prizes.  A volunteer party is held at The Grid Bar and Grill in Kings Beach..
Mark your calendars and help-out your community.
