For the first time in 17 years, actor Robert Redford’s Sundance Resort is getting a new ski lift. The new fixed-grip quad chair will begin at the overflow parking lot above the base area. The lift will terminate in the expert terrain of Sundance’s upper mountain.
Currently, guests in the 300 vehicle overflow parking have to wait for a shuttle or ski down to the base area. Both options can take 45 minutes to get you to the expert terrain on the upper mountain. The new lift will cut the time to 15 minutes.
The new lift and ticket booth are expected to cost over $2 million. They are expected to be ready for the 2012-2013 season.
Sundance is also expanding snowmaking coverage to the terrain park on Maverick run.
