Two recent deaths in the Truckee area

Last weekend, two men died while participating in fun outdoor activities.  Larry Sage, 53, from Truckee, died while riding his bicycle down the hill on Old State Route 40 from Donner Summit last Friday.

Sage fell off his bike near South Shore Drive for an unknown reason.  He was wearing a helmet, but sustained a head injury that took his life.  His ride partners did not see the actual cause of the crash.
A jet skiing accident on Boca Reservoir took the life of Brett Jaffe, 41, of Reno, last Sunday. Jaffe and another man were riding jet skis when they collided. Jaffe did not respond to medical lifesaving treatment. According to the Tahoe Daily Tribune, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office believes “alcohol and /or drugs do appear to be a factor in the collision".
