150 passenger TTD dream boat |
The Tahoe Transportation District’s (TTD) quest for a “fleet”
of ferry boats linking north and south shores will begin this week on the north
shore. The route is limited and you have
to make reservations.
Service will begin with a 30 foot boat that can carry 12 passengers and 8
bicycles. There
will be two routes: North shore to/from Tahoe City, and West shore to/from
Tahoe City.
Adult one-way tickets are $10 dollars, kids under 13 are
$7 dollars. Bikes ride free.
Ports:
·
Tahoe City Marina
·
West Shore Café in Homewood
·
Gar Woods in Carnelian Bay
·
Tahoe Vista Recreation Area
This water shuttle service is a pilot project for TTD. If things go well, TTD hopes to have several
large boats zipping across the lake by 2015.

If the boats serve beer, I'm in.
