The first storm is heading to Lake Tahoe

A winter storm warning is in effect from 6am Monday to 11am Tuesday. Snow should fall at Lake Tahoe level.

The overnight low should be around 28 degrees. Forecasters are warning drivers of winter conditions on Monday for “heavy” snow and high winds over the passes.


Snow on the Sierra peaks should accumulate from 6 to 12 inches of snow over the next few days. The National Weather Service shows snow likely through Tuesday, with some chance of snow on Wednesday and Thursday.

Boreal has a “tentative” opening day of October 31. Northstar and Heavenly hope to open November 16,
update: 10/22. Several inches of snow fell overnight in Truckee.  Daytona is on storm watch.
