The Tahoe Donner board of directors determined that the current Cross Country Ski Center needs improvements due to “the changing needs of the community”. The board has approved a brand new facility that will provide an “increased service level” to customers.
Dale Cox Architects, from Truckee, have been hired to design the building. Cox has met with a steering committee to hear desires and needs for the facility in order to develop a floor plan. The new building will use the same footprint as the existing building, but allow more room for the rental operation, expanded retail space, add a locker room, more seating, and more parking.
The new Ski Center will use stone, timbers, and wood siding to create a “mountain lodge” look. Homeowner feedback will be gathered before final decisions are made to the center.
The next homeowner meeting will be March 16, at 5:30pm at the existing Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center. If you can’t make the meeting, questions and comments can be directed to email@example.com.
The new Cross Country Ski Center is expected to be fully operational in early 2015.
