Shaun White wins U.S. Open Halfpipe

The Burton U.S. Open at Vail closed out with outstanding big-air riding and record-breaking crowds. Shaun White came to the event with his bag of 6 consecutive X Games winning tricks, looking to add a U.S. Open to his resume. White did not disappoint when he stuck the top five highest trick scores of the day.

After the event, White said he was going “to go up to Tahoe and do a little practice, I got to get better”.
Japanese rider, Ayumu Hirano, was 8 points behind White, for second place. Hirano is just fourteen-years old!
Kelly Clark won the women’s competition again this year. This win made it her sixth U.S. Open halfpipe championship, giving her 61 halfpipe career wins.
