Truckee Airfair announces Aerobatic Performers

Last year the Airfair featured only static displays and flybys. For 2013, the static displays and flybys return, but three stunt performers have been added.

The stunt team of Melissa and Rex Pemberton will perform during the opening ceremonies. Rex will free-fall through the sky in his wing-suit, while his wife Melissa barrel rolls her Edge 540 aircraft around him.

Rich Perkins will perform precision aerobatics in his L39C Albatros jet. The Albatros is a jet trainer from Czechoslovakia that features dual seats and a single jet engine with 4,000 pounds of thrust.

Eddie Andreini will fly his modified Stearman through a series of stunts that include torque rolls, double snap rolls, square loops, and an inverted ribbon pick-up.

The Truckee Airfair is free and the parking is free. There will be live music, food court, beer gardens, and a bounce house for the kids. The date is July 6, 2013 from 10am to 4pm at the Tahoe Truckee Airport.

I had a great time at last year's Airfair and this year it promises to be even better. The free parking was well managed and the show was great.
