is seeking comments on their Proposed Action to remove the dam and spillway at
Incline Lake. The land would be restored to a natural setting.
Incline Lake is off Mount Rose Highway near Tahoe
Meadows. The lake has been empty for years due to seismic concerns in the dam.
The dam was designed to hold back 19 acres of water.
The proposed restoration project is in the initial
planning stages. Citizens can send comments to Matt Dickinson,
Interdisciplinary Team Leader, Incline Lake Dam Project, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, 5 College Dr., South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. The deadlines for
comments are July 19, 2013. Send comments electronically to comments-pacificsouthwest-ltbu@fs.fed.us
