California Capital Airshow this weekend at Mather Airport

The California Capital Airshow runs October 5 and 6 from 9:00am to 5:00pm each day. There will be a variety of airshow performers throughout the day. Performances include the Royal Canadian jet demonstration team, Red Bull wingsuit skydivers, Indy Boys jet powered school bus, and solo aerobatics from John Klatt and Kirby Chambliss.

I have enjoyed the show every year. In addition to what is up flying, they have static aircraft displays, bands on the tarmac, Kids Zone, food trucks, and beer vendors. Shade and seating are limited and higher priced. Bring a chair and a hat.

Performers:

Red Bull Air Force: Skydiving and plane aerobatics
Royal Canadian Snowbirds: Jet team
The Bremont Horsemen: F-86 Saber Jets
Franklin's Flying Circus: Biplane performance
Greg Shelton and Ashley Battles: Wing walking
Indy Boys, Inc.: Jet school bus and outhouse
Metro Fire's Bell helicopter demonstration
Aerobatic maneuvers: Michael Goulian and John Klatt
Chip Yates will fly his 200mph electric aircraft.

Performances start at 11:30 with opening ceremonies and conclude at 4:30pm.

Purchase tickets on line form the California Capital Airshow website, Raley's and Bel Air markets, Safe Credit Union or at the gate. The general admission tickets are $15 dollars in advance for an adult and $20 dollars at the gate. They also have grandstand seating and even shaded seating. See website for details.
