Fundraiser party for Truckee Bike Park expansion

Pump Track
Truckee’s Cottonwood Restaurant is hosting a fundraiser for the Truckee Bike Park Project this Wednesday, November 20. Money is needed to build phase 3, which will include “flow trails”, XC trails, and a dual slalom course.
Forget the Roses, a local Truckee band, will provide the music. The Cottonwood will be serving $4 dollar beers and Happy Hour food prices from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Raffle tickets are $1 dollar and they have tons of prizes. Prizes include a Fox dropper seatpost, sunglasses, BMX bike, bike shoes, and bicycle service.
Phase 3 is expected to cost $60-$80K to build and will double the size of the current park. The current park has well maintained pump track and dirt track facilities. Phase 3 is scheduled to break ground in May of 2014.
The park is free and open to everyone. Funding is from donations and sponsors. Labor is from volunteers but tools and materials are costly.
Park usage is highest on the weekends. I ride on the weekdays and usually have the park all to myself. The park remains open until the snow falls or rain creates mud. The Bike Park is adjacent to the River View Sports Park on Joerger Drive.
