Heavenly Resort skier dies in skiing accident

An obituary in the Cape Cod Times says Dana Jones Tuttle passed away on December 22, 2013. Family members say she was skiing at Heavenly with her husband when a "snowboarder hit her, sending her into a tree" on December 21, 2013. Tuttle was removed from life support the following day.

Tuttle, age 56, graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno. She worked in Carson City as an accountant for the State of Nevada. She is survived by her husband, two sons, and her parents.

Channel 2 News in Reno is reporting that the accident happened around 10:30am. Tuttle was unresponsive and not wearing a helmet when the ski patrol arrived.
