Meet your new Tahoe-Truckee Running Club

Lake Tahoe from Tahoe Rim Trail

The new running club is called the Donner Party Mountain Runners (DPMR).  DPMR was formed “to inform and inspire mountain runners in Truckee-Tahoe.”  Club runs have already been scheduled and membership fees are being accepted on their website; Donner Party Mountain Runners.com

DPMR has achieved 501(C) (3) status as a non-profit running club under the umbrella of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).

DPMR will have regular Thursday morning workouts at various locations around Truckee/North Tahoe. Thursday morning workouts will include some form of intervals, speed, tempo, or hill repeats.

Monday evening workouts are "slow-paced" runs to introduce new runners to the trails and experienced trail runners to new trails. The runs are targeted for 3-4 miles on various trails in the Truckee/North Tahoe area.

The Donner Party Mountain Runners Facebook page will keep you informed about races, trail conditions, and informal runs and gatherings.

Basic DPMR membership starts at $35 per year and includes the Memorial Day Members’ Party and RRCA membership with newsletter.

DPMR looks like a great group to me. My wife and I just joined!

  1. Your link to the DPMR site is missing the ".com" I think as it didn't link up. Super excited to hear about this group. Gretchen kicked butt at Miners Revenge this weekend.
