Near miss injures two on Donner Lake

Summer fun on Donner Lake.
Two boats nearly collided last Sunday afternoon on Donner Lake. A jet-ski towing an inner-tube crossed the path of a boat pulling a skier. The ski boat ran over the tow line of the jet-ski, pitching both passengers on the inner-tube into the water.

The 7 and 8-year old children riding on the inner-tube sustained “minor injuries”, but one of the children was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Both children were wearing life jackets.

The boating rules on Donner Lake require boats that are towing people to travel in a counterclockwise direction.
