The Tough Mudder Tahoe obstacle races will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Northstar. This is a 10.5 mile run that begins in the Village and crisscrosses up the mountain over several obstacles to the top of Mt. Pluto (8,610 feet). Runners then run down the mountain over more obstacles to finish back in the Village.
Several thousand racers will compete on each of the two days. There are so many people in fact; Northstar will only hold enough cars for “premium and preferred parking”. General parking will be at Boreal Ski Resort with shuttle service to Northstar. Look for heavy Saturday and Sunday morning traffic on Highway 267 near the entrance to Northstar.
Spectators must pay $20 online in advance or $40 day-of to watch Tough Mudder. Tough Mudder is a team-oriented obstacle course designed to test physical and mental strength. The event is not timed so teams can concentrate on camaraderie instead of finisher rankings. The obstacles are challenging, yet safe. Many include water or mud crossings.
Tough Mudder pricing goes up in one day. Go to Tough Mudder Tahoe for information and registration.
